Of the feedback received so far, all has been in favor of the "hill" site. I've sketched some possible designs, but to produce something which really responds to the site is challenging from so far away. Because of this, I wanted to make two suggestions.

First, it's really important that the space is cleared so that we can learn more about it (total area, soil depth, rough area, space between trees, etc.). It would be best to get this done sooner than later, both to expedite the design process, and also to confront those brambles while they are still relatively dormant. To do this, we'll want  permission the school first. Thus far the administration has been very cooperative, and our friend Evan Katz has already been very helpful in getting support for this project from Head of School John Bracker and others. I encourage those in the area who can offer their time, gardening tools, or anything else, to network on the Facebook group "In memory of John Harrity and Tyler Wisser".

Second, while I am more than happy to contribute my meager design and drawing skills to this project, this is by no means my project. I think it would be great if everyone spent a little time drawing, doodling, or jotting down any ideas you have, and send them to me (tresscd@gmail.com). I'll post everything here (unless you request otherwise). And honestly, don't wait to have an idea to start drawing; the best ones tend to come up after you have a few lines down on paper!

p.s. If anyone has access to a transit, it would be really cool to create a topographic map of the site!
